Our Double Hung Windows bring extra performance and convenience to an Old-World window design that’s still hugely popular in Canada and the USA.

Our Classic Series PVC windows feature a traditional, ornate profile, which goes equally well with heritage and contemporary homes. Both sashes of our hung windows slide up and down for ventilation, and tilt in for easy cleaning. The multiple air chambers offer great insulation, while the 4.5” frame depth adds extra efficiency as well as protection against the elements.

Multi-chamber construction

Our multi-chamber construction allows for superior thermal protection. It also adds strength to the double hung window, making it more energy efficient and durable.

Beverley Hills double hung windows feature a 4-1/2” fusion-welded frame.

4-1/2” fusion-welded frame

Our windows come standard on a 4-1/2” deep frame, which is stronger and more durable than the standard 3-1/4” sold elsewhere. The deeper frames give extra dimensional stability and strength. It also allows for a lower sash profiles to maximize the glass surface.

Beverley Hills double hung windows feature dual-pane insulated glass units.

Dual-pane insulated glass units

Two layers of glass are joined together to create a sealed hollow chamber that act as a thermal buffer. This drastically reduces direct heat transfer through the glass, as well as helps prevent condensation and ice build-up. It also helps soundproof the interior, especially in conjunction with a high-quality cellular spacer.

Low-emissivity coated glass

An invisibly thin metallic coating is baked onto one or more of the glass pane surfaces, reflecting most of the heat in the form of infrared radiation back inside the home during winter and outside during summer, while letting most visible light pass through.

Argon gas filling

The air between the glass panes inside a thermal glass unit is replaced with argon. This inert, odourless gas is heavier than air, reducing convection between the panes and the associated heat loss through the insulated thermal glass unit. It also offsets water vapour to prevent condensation between the panes.

Ener-Edge® warm-edge spacer

Our thermal glass units use a cellular silicone warm-edge spacer with low thermal conductivity, minimizing heat transfer between the interior and the exterior. It also allows for the natural expansion and compression due to temperature changes without failing the seal between them.

Multiple weather seals

Our window seal is made up of three continuous layers that wrap around the entire window. The co-extruded flexible PVC seals offer the highest degree of protection from air and water infiltration.

Our double hung windows accomodate a very securely fit interior wood extension cladded with a thick layer of no-maintenance PVC. It allows for the easy installation of blinds or other window treatments, and results in greater window strength and durability.

High-gloss finish

We use the highest grade PVC powder and fabrication techniques which result in a high gloss PVC finish. As a result, our windows are easier to clean, more durable, and won’t fade or yellow over time.

Our decorative cam action locks are a one-piece, die-cast metal system that is anchored to a metal sash rail reinforcement to provide exceptional durability and security.

Coil-spring, constant-force balance system

Our constant force balance system delivers a consistent lift throughout the entire travel of the double hung window. This results in window operation which is smooth, quiet and easy to use. The system fills the entire cavity of the window to reduce air leakage.

Beverley Hills double hung windows features an integrated sash latch.

Integrated sash latch

Unlike most other sash latch designs, our integrated sash latch is moulded into the sash instead of being screwed on top. Aside from a more modern look, this design also reduces the chance of damage to the latch, and is easier to clean.

Beverley Hills double hung windows feature half screen/full screen options.

Half screen/full screen option

Choose your preference. Half screens only allow for either one of the sashes of the window to be covered, but allow more natural light to enter your home, and offer access to the exterior through the other sash. Full screens allow for more airflow and ventilation while both sashes are open. With their durable elegant aluminium finish, these screens won’t warp or break down over time like some of the competition.

A brickmould added to the window frame at the factory cuts down on installation time, guarantees a perfect fit when installing your double hung window, and reduces the risk of water infiltration.

Our Classic series PVC double hung windows are also available in several exterior colours. These colours are baked onto external extruded aluminium profiles, offering a finish that’s extremely durable.

The manufacturing process of all Energy Star® certified double hung windows installed by Nordik Windows and Doors are audited by an independent accredited certification body and approved by Natural Resources Canada. Our windows and doors carry the Energy Star® label showing their rating.
